Jane’s Dependancy have apologized to followers and cancelled a present following an on-stage brawl between singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro.
In Boston on Friday (September 3), the band have been performing “Ocean Dimension” (certainly one of their finest songs!) when Farrell and Navarro obtained bodily. The 2 tussled briefly, with Farrell screaming “fuck you” and Navarro holding him again. Farrell then took a swing at Navarro whereas being held again by members of Jane’s Dependancy’s crew. At that time, the present ended early.
“We wish to prolong a heartfelt apology for the occasions that unfolded final evening,” Jane’s Dependancy subsequently wrote on their Instagram Story. They cancelled their Sunday (September 15) present in Bridgeport, CT, “in consequence” of the altercation.
Farrell’s spouse, Etty Lau Farrell, shared video of the incident, and supplied her account of why it occurred. She wrote, “Perry’s frustration had been mounting, evening after evening, he felt that the stage quantity had been extraordinarily loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band. Perry had been affected by tinnitus and a sore throat each evening. However when the viewers within the first row, began complaining as much as Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they could not hear him, Perry misplaced it.”
She added that, after leaving the stage, bassist Eric Avery “put Perry in a headlock and punched him within the abdomen thrice.” She mentioned that Avery took “low cost pictures” on Farrell. After the incident, Farrell was a “crazed beast for the following half an hour” earlier than he ultimately broke down and “cried and cried.”
